Jon Pritikin rolled a frying pan. But more than that, he impacted kids at Honolulu 2011

See the photos above of Jon rolling a frying pan in the Honolulu 2011 general session. Yes, he's strong. But that's only a wee part of his story - which is not so much about what he can do but what God has done in him! And it's that story, the Story of Jesus touching Jon that touched our youth at Honolulu 2011. Here's what a few of them had to say:

He’s a blessing to me, I loved listening to him. He has so much hope and faith in God!

Jon has an amazing story! He really touched my life.

He was really moving

He is so strong and has so much faith. He’s also very funny.

Never giving up and always getting back up. Love the story of his life.

So inspiring, one of the best. Gives me hope.

Bethany Hamilton's surprise visit to Honolulu 2011. She's got such a beautiful smile!

We were surprised and delighted when Bethany Hamilton's brother Noah told us he thought Bethany "might" be on the island after all during Honolulu 2011. She was supposed to be on the mainland doing a media blitz for Soul Surfer, the theatrically-released movie based on Bethany's inspirational recovery after a shark bit off her left arm while surfing on Kaua‘i.

But all we knew was she was on the island.
She could show up.
She hoped to show up.
We'll let you know.

They did let us know. During the opening worship session of the conference on Thursday night of general session, the call came in. Bethany was on her way. In fact, Bethany might actually be in the house now. But where? And exactly when? When HIM co-founder  Dan Chun got on stage to introduce her, even he didn't know where she was: Was she in the ballroom at the back? Would someone walk her down the aisle? When he said her name, where would she appear? In fact, she was backstage waiting in the wings with Bethany's friend and ours, Sumo Sato.

None of this was rehearsed. It was pure Bethany sharing herself and her story. Thank you, Bethany! You blessed so many that night!

worship Him!

Rumor has it, and it's right: Hon2011 preconference sessions will be only $59 at the door. Now go ahead and spread it!!

That's right.

Our preconference sessions on Worship, Prayer, and Children's Ministry will be so good and led by such fine speakers, we want to encourage more people to come and benefit. So instead of $79, these ministry preconference sessions will be only $59. Wow!

Worship will be taught by none other than Dan Haseltine, lead vocalist for recording artists, Jars of Clay, and founder of Blood:Water Mission.

The Prayer Preconference will be a mini-retreat led by none other than Jan Johnson. If you heard Jan at last year's Honolulu 2010 or HIM's LiveLoveLaugh women's conference last year, you'll know that it will be time well-spent with Jesus.

And herding cats on Children's Ministry and rethinking it as Family Ministry, will be Sue Miller. Sue was behind Willow Creek Community Church's Promiseland children's ministry, and is now a principal in The Orange Conference.

Spread The Word. Show up at the door. Check-in and registration begins at 8:30 am, Thursday, March 24th at the Hawaii Convention Center, 3rd floor. Get all the details here.
