FAQ: REGISTERING ONLINE FOR HONOLULU 2014

Help! My online registration will not process!
Bummer. And frustrating. Here’s a short checklist to try first:
1. Check that the address you provide is the billing address for the card being used.
2. Confirm that the zip code you enter matches the billing address.
3. If you are using an American Express card, the CCV security code is the 4-digit number on the front of the card, upper right side.
4. Having trouble entering the information or navigating? Try using a different web browser (Goggle Chrome seems to work well).
5. Can’t see the top or bottom of the page? You may need to scroll up or down a little further.

Can I edit or change my registration?
You can easily change the types and quantities of tickets being purchased in the first window, before you proceed to the payment section.

Where is the payment section?
You will see the payment page come up after you click the continue button at the bottom of the first page. Please check over your information carefully. To go back to the previous page, hit the back button on your browser.

What forms of payment are accepted?
We take VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. We strongly suggest you have all your credit card information on hand before you start the registration process. This includes:
• account number
• expiration date
• the 3- or 4-digit security code (back of VISA/MC or front of AMEX)
• correct billing address for the card
• correct billing zip code for the card

My registration attempt “timed out!”
After you specify your ticket order on the first page of the online form, you will have 7 minutes to complete your purchase — a decent amount of time but not endless. This protects you, your information, and your credit card. We surely don’t want your personal information left open for unauthorized users to access.

What if I don’t want to buy a whole conference ticket?
That’s what Take a Peek (TAP) tickets are for!
Full-time conference registrations are the best deal, giving you entry to all 6 general sessions and 5 elective seminar sessions. However, if you can only come for 1 or 2 sessions, or if you want to introduce a friend, coworker, or family member to HIM, grab a TAP or two.
*Individual Take a Peek (TAP) tickets are $35 each online thru March 1, 2014.

What are Take a Peek Packs?
Take a Peek Packs are multi-packs that allow you to pay less when you buy more.
Buy a 3-pack, and each ticket is only $33 each — $99 for 3, $198 for 6, etc.
Buy a 5-pack, and each ticket is only $30 each— $150 for 5, $300 for 10, etc.
To take advantage of the pack pricing, you must buy in multiples of 3 or 5.

I’ve hit the back button on my browser but I can’t edit my registration.
Yeah, we’ve see that happen, too. You may have to refresh/reload your page using the toolbar on your web browser. If the problem persists, try using a different web browser like Google Chrome.

How do I complete the registration process?
Simply hit the confirm order button at the end of the form, located at the bottom of the second page. Voilà!

How will I know my registration went through?
Ahhhh, yes, the magic moment! Two things will happen to let you know your registration was processed:
You will see a window pop up saying: Your order has processed successfully!
You will receive a confirmation at the email address you provided online. This email will also contain the link you need to print your tickets.

Let's all ask Francis Chan to do this in person when he comes to HONOLULU 2014, March 21-23!

That's an outtake from Francis' Crazy Love DVD (h/t our buddy Kevin Kim).

'So grateful Francis is coming back to HIM and HONOLULU 2014 a second year in a row! Not only that, but we'll have the extended Chan family, too — Lisa, Francis' wife, and their beautiful daughter Rachel with her music!

Francis first started speaking with HIM at our San Francisco Bay Area conferences back in 2003. He then spoke at HONOLULU 2005. Yeah, that was before almost anyone knew him and God's gifted use of him. Well, that changed!

What?! You don't know Francis Chan? Change that by clicking here!

Danny Did It! HIM’s 2013 year-end donation drive takes a personal twist

It’s not often we spotlight a donor. In fact, we haven’t ever until now.

Most friends of HIM give quietly, without fanfare, following Jesus’ words to “not let your left hand know what your right hand gives.” (Mt 6:3) That’s how our friend Danny Choy gave. Danny, a pastor and music minister, and his wife Donna supported HIM monthly the last 13 years. Sometimes the gift was more, sometimes less. Sometimes it came late or a skipped a month, depending on circumstances. But there was always a gift.

Danny and Donna also came to the HIM conference every year — even after moving from Honolulu, even though it meant flying in from the Big Island, and even though Danny began needing a wheelchair for distances.

Danny went home to Jesus on October 28.  In a note with their monthly donation, Donna said that Danny “often mentioned he wished we had more money so he could leave HIM a substantial endowment.” We were dumbstruck. Danny and Donna were ordinary, not affluent people, but they gave generously. Asked why, Donna replied:

[Danny] chose to invest our money where it does the most good in building God’s kingdom in Hawaii and the world.  For us, that meant investing in HIM regularly — for a healthy “spiritual economy” for ourselves and the generations to follow. Bottom line is that Danny felt it was important for him to do his part so HIM would continue this exceptional work and he wished he could do more.*

Danny wished he could do more. He understood HIM relies on the support of many. He knew HIM can continue only if people who value who we are and what we offer respond gratefully and generously.

Danny wasn’t able to leave the substantial endowment to HIM he wanted, but to honor Danny we are creating the ‘DANNY DID IT’ MEMORIAL FUND for all gifts to HIM through December 31, 2013.

Make a gift to HIM today and you will do what Danny couldn’t do and what only you can do. HIM needed Danny’s financial support, yes, and we need yours. We need it now. We need it monthly. Your gifts fuel life-changing opportunities. Your support brings people like Francis Chan, Nick Vujicic, Gary Chapman, Priscilla Shirer and Lincoln Brewster to the HIM conference. You make HIM. You are why HIM can gather churches, equip leaders, support everyday believers, and preach the Good News.

If you’ve not made a gift to HIM this year, make one today. If you have already given, perhaps you’ve found a reason to give again and more. And if you are not supporting HIM with a sustaining monthly gift, please consider setting that up as an easy automatic debit or recurring credit card donation. We really appreciate the reliability of monthly gifts.

Thank you for trusting in HIM as we trust in Jesus. Him [Jesus Christ] we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone in all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this we toil, striving with all the energy which he mightily inspires within us.” [Colossians 1:28-29]

Thanks to you, we reached our goal!

Help HIM get over the summer hump

Dear friends,

Summer is a challenging time for HIM.

Donations are always down and income from registration fees are practically nonexistent. It’s a dry season, and we often feel like camels making their way across the endless desert to the oasis that is fall.

That’s why we need your help.

Help us get over the hump with a short, three-month commitment this summer. $50, $30 or even $15 a month during these summer months would bless us tremendously. Or give and go with a “hump-sum” summer gift of $25, $50 or $100 if it’s easier for you.

All we are praying for is Gideon’s 300 (see Judges 7). We are looking for just 300 new donors to give monthly for the next 3 months. We believe in and are looking expectantly for the 300 whom God calls. We invite you to be one of them.

Please be a summer time friend and support HIM today. We need your help. Any registration fees we receive, we put aside to cover the cost of that particular conference or seminar. The donations we need now are for paying the HIM staff, electricity bills, our monthly rent – and for keeping HIM alive until the next conference.

We are grateful for your ministry to and with us.

In Him, Jesus Christ,
Dan and Pam Chun
